About Meybod University
Meybod University was originally established in October 1995 as Meybod Faculty of Theology, affiliated with Yazd University. Initially, it admitted 30 students in the field of Islamic Theology and Education. This continued until 1997, when the program transitioned into a bachelor's degree in Quranic Sciences and Hadith Studies. In 2000, the faculty expanded to offer a degree in Islamic Jurisprudence and Law.
The institution took a major step forward in 2007 by launching master’s programs in Quranic Sciences and Islamic Law. A year later, Philosophy and Islamic Wisdom was introduced, further strengthening the faculty’s academic reputation. By combining these disciplines with experienced scholars, Meybod Faculty of Theology became a leading hub for Islamic studies and research in Iran.
In 2009, Meybod University broadened its academic scope beyond religious studies by adding Iranian Studies, its first non-theological program. Due to rapid educational and infrastructure growth, it was upgraded to Meybod Higher Education Complex in September 2010. By 2012, doctoral programs in Islamic Criminal Law and Quranic Sciences had been launched.
Finally, in 2013, Meybod Higher Education Complex transitioned into Meybod University, comprising three faculties:
